KIDS AND EXERCISE

So, I've been reading all this stuff about kids and exercise and the fact that most today don't get enough. Determined to insure my munchkins keep moving I decided to lead by example. I discovered that I can't keep up with a two-year old. She can jump/run/skip for hours. I was lucky to finish ten minutes. Make play fun. Fresh air, green grass, balls, hoops and sneakers make for great memories and a really good time.

WHERE DID THEY GO???

Please excuse any posts with missing images.
I've discovered the hard way that if you delete photos from your Google storage,
 said photos disappear from Blogger.
So not cool!

SUMMER SHADE

She found the shade of a summer tree and marveled at the sheer simplicity of it.

SHE LOVES EGGS!

Ah! The lure of food that doesn't come in a boobie bottle.
Her taste buds are beginning to take on a mind of their own.
But without fail, when we eat out, she always demands
and eats her favorite food.
MeeMi's baby loves eggs!

QUILT LOVE

MeeMi's been out of pocket for a few weeks so I apologize for the silence since my last post. Despite my absence I've been very busy thinking of all things baby. There are the quilts that need to be made. One for my God-gran who somehow slipped off my baby quilt radar. My precious little miss is almost five-years old and still hasn't gotten her blanket from me. Her mother politely reminded me recently and her little angel requested butterflies in pink and green. And then there's the quilt I need to do for my new nephew (it's a boy!) who blessed us with his presence recently. Lovingly nicknamed RoRo, he has a big little sister and a cousin (both who just turned 2) who live to cuddle, hold, pinch and kiss his cheeks. Poor little guy can't get any rest with these two pretty, pretty princesses around!

The last quilt I did was the WHIMSY farm animal quilt that I made for MeeMi's sweet baby. That one kept me busy for a minute and I loved every minute of it.

FASCINATION WITH FASHION!

As a mother who made all of my baby's Halloween costumes and couldn't celebrate any kid's birthday without an elaborate theme party, this was right up my alley!

Huff Post Parents featured an ARTICLE today written by blogger Ilana Wiles. The story was about the most precocious four-year old, nicknamed Mayhem, who has a fascination with all things fashion. Little Mayhem and her mommy Angie design and make dresses out of construction paper and tape. Mom says that tissue paper, wrapping paper, and gift bags, silk scarves, tulle, and aluminum foil are also fair game. I see a budding designer in the making. House of Mayhem, anyone?

With the 86th Academy Awards on the horizon I just had to share this little darling's ode to the red carpet. If you want more follow @2sisters_angie and #fashionbymayhem on Instagram. You'll be one of the first. If you aren't on Instagram, check out more of Mayhem's creations on her upcoming website FashionByMayhem.com.

DRINKING THEIR VEGGIES!

January has been an interesting month, most of it revolving around my new healthy eating regime. At the beginning of the month I added juicing and organic vegetables to my diet and eliminated all fried foods, meat, starches and sugars. I'm down twenty pounds and I feel absolutely amazing. As part of my transition I've been trying to figure out how to steer my family down this road as well, most especially since Son-shine, the new daughter-in-law and my beautiful grandbaby will soon be moving in with me. I want to steer my munchkin in a very healthy direction so learning everything I can about juicing for children is a priority. Towards that I thought I'd share one of my very favorite juices for kids. As, well, the book below is one I highly recommend.

Drinking their veggies is nothing but good!

LET IT SNOW!

Snow is only good for one thing...playing in it!
As the country endures record low temperatures and snow falls in places it has never been before, remember that winter weather and snow serve only one purpose.
