FROM PRE-SCHOOL TO THE PLAYGROUND

Just the other day I was reminded of my mother's lacking skill when it came to braiding my hair.  Her go-to standard was a two-strand twist on top and two braids on each side of my head. Large plastic balls on the end of rubber bands accented that design.  Her most creative venture was my braided Mohawk in high school.  I LOVED that style.  Spoke to my inner personality.  The sides were cornrowed upward with each row captured down the center of my skull in colored rubber bands. The loose hair captured on top was then curled into a perfect Mohawk.

These days little girls and their mommies have many more options. From fishtails and waterfalls to Dutch braids and milkmaids, little girls have a slew of braid styles to take them from pre-school to the playground.  Too cute, right?
